Hello and welcome to strantastic.

We're back!
It's shaping up to be an exciting season and strantastic intends be there.

With a bit of luck we will be here to stay and perhaps strantastic will be allowed to concentrate on what matters- the football- which would make for a refreshing change.
The manager has of course brought in a mixed bag of newcomers, 9 in all, and season 2005/06 promises to be an intriguing one for Blues fans. They have reason to believe that we won't be there to make up the numbers this time and that, on paper at least, we have the strongest squad we've ever had.  In addition, the fixture list has handed us 4 of our first six games at home which should surely allow a decent chance of putting points on the board early doors and getting off to a good start.
The first competitive game is fast approaching  and it seems like an eternity since that day we clinched promotion against Morton back in April. Bit disappointing that it's not a league game as a season curtain-raiser  but since when have the powers-that-be shown any common sense?
Anyway, bring on Airdrie!

Top story...

Arbroath 1-3 Stranraer

Stranraer won 3-1 at Gayfield in the Challenge cup, thanks to a brace by the impressive Hamilton and an own goal. However, the result was marred by an injury to Gary Mc Phee, whose leg was broken by a reckless challenge from Lichties Ally Brazil. Gary will likely be out for the season now and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.  Disappointing that some referees don't send people off for these sort of challenges yet will show the red card for trivial things like dissent or kicking the ball away.
